Holes

On the Tools tab, in the Design group, the Holes menu contains the following tools.

Holes

On the Tools tab, in the Design group, the Holes button opens the Hole Manager tool where you can manage hole requests. See Hole Manager.

Assign hole to pipe

Use the Assign hole to pipe tool to assign a hole to a pipe. First you select the hole and then the pipe.

When a hole is assigned to a pipe, you can see for instance in the hole list that the hole information contains the object ID number of the pipe it is assigned to.

Delete holes assigned to pipe

Use the Delete holes assigned to pipe tool to delete holes that are assigned to a pipe. First you select the pipe and then the program deletes all holes that are assigned to that pipe.

Delete holes of spool

Use the Delete holes of spool tool to delete holes that are assigned to a spool. First you select the pipe and then the program will check if the pipe has a spool number. Holes will be deleted based on the pipe number and the spool number of the selected pipe.

The pipe number of a hole is defined as:

pipelinename_spoolnumber_username

So, if the spool number of the hole (searched from the pipe number string) matches the spool number of the pipe, the hole is deleted.

Update pipe numbers of all holes

Use the Update pipe numbers of all holes tool to update the pipe number of all holes that are assigned to a pipe.

The pipe number of a hole is defined as:

pipelinename_spoolnumber_username

Only the Pipeline name and spool number are updated in the process, not the username (after being created, it never changes), so you can see which user has assigned the hole to the pipe or created the penetration.
